'Meet the Locals' at Fronteer Gallery.

I am delighted to be part of the group exhibition 'Meet the Locals' at Fronteer Gallery in Sheffield City Centre. Fronteer Gallery, run by artists Michael Borkowsky and Sharon Borkowsky, is a warm and welcoming space that is well worth a visit. I will be exhibiting my piece, 'Threaded Memories,' an artwork I completed in 2023.

'Threaded Memories' 2023: A vibrant ode to a decade of students' creativity, this piece celebrates the joy they brought into my life. Crafted using discarded threads wrapped and extracted from communal bobbins, it is set against a hand-painted splattered batik background, paying homage to Ridley Road Market and my time in Hackney, East London. Techniques include beading, applique, and hand-stitching with reclaimed cotton embroidery threads.
